Organization
Zohrya mainly focuses its aid on vulnerable groups (women and the elderly) but primarily minor children who have been left alone in society due to lack of education, or underlying reasons that prevent them from actively participating in society and have already been signed for the rest of their lives.
Zohrya therefore believes that education is the ultimate means of investing because it is invested in our future, our children, and the leaders of the future, who can then resurrect their accumulated wisdom to their children, family or environment. .
Whatever we do: all preventative help to prevent children from entering into desperate situations and therefore unable to go to school or even live in life-threatening situations, often on the street, exposed to the danger of exploitation and abuse.
Our Mission
We recognize that volunteerism is important to our cause. It is reassuring to see team members feel good about their work by paying back to the community.
Attracting volunteers instead of paid employees will also assure our members are passionate and concerned about shared values than just paying their bills.

We want to make a difference by intervening, in / for the short term, in situations that we find unacceptable, where other organizations drop out (often due to complicated regulations etc.) and in the meantime come to structural solutions with already established (government) authorities.
Zohrya wants to help people who are in a desperate (emergency) situation and need immediate help, but who, for whatever reason, do not get it, regardless of their race, political opinion or religion.
We provide on-site assistance with mainly local relief workers from Zohrya under close supervision of our Dutch administration consisting of experienced volunteers with decades of experience in the legal and financial sector and with renowned aid organizations (MSF, OXFAM, MDM) worldwide as Country Director.
By regularly traveling (at least 1 board member on site at all times) and by sending experienced volunteers (teachers, psychologists, financial controllers, etc.), our organization is entirely dedicated to supporting and developing our local employees in order to be able to provide the best help with the crucial local knowledge and networks.
